Leaving No Woman Behind
To ensure ‘No woman is left behind’, the VWB VETS project has given specific focus to equipping women with skills and knowledge on improved dairy farm management.
Thomas Coldwell joined VWB Canada in February 2022 as the Program Officer, Volunteer Recruitment and Mobilization. Passionate about global cooperation, Thomas has been involved with international humanitarian relief and development organizations for the past eight years, including engaging with partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Most recently, Thomas coordinated global citizenship education initiatives with the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC) and brings expertise in project management, youth engagement, communications, and leadership. He holds an honour’s degree in sociology, and a master’s in international development specializing in gender studies from the University of Ottawa.

Meaningful youth engagement in agriculture is key to the improvement of the social wellbeing of communities as it plays a critical role in enhancing food security.
Over 16 days, a small group of volunteer veterinarians and registered veterinary technologists travelled to three communities in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut region of Canada.
