Claire has 30 years of experience as a veterinarian in research, teaching and clinical service in animal reproduction (theriogenology). She is the past president of the American College of Theriogenologists, the veterinary specialists in reproductive medicine, and past board member of the Society for Theriogenology and the Theriogenology Foundation.
Claire is known for her advocacy and was the first woman to chair the University Council, the academic governing body at the University of Saskatchewan. She has been active in advancing One Health through international interdisciplinary programs, work in Northern Saskatchewan and through Vets without Borders. She has directed a VWB project in rural Uganda since 2007 helping HIV-AIDS affected families improve their livlihoods. She is a past VWB Volunteer of the Year.
